Those concerned about job security may want to consider earning extra money through stock market trading.
According to a spokesman for Vodafone, there will be more job cuts across its European businesses.
The cuts will affect around 500 of Vodafone's 10,000-strong workforce.
Connect, the trade union representing Vodafone employees, said they would be encouraging the company to pursue redundancies on a voluntary basis.
"We will be working very closely with the company to ensure that our members are treated with respect during this difficult time and that a full and proper process of consultation is carried out," the union commented.
In other jobs news, Wrightbus, one of the largest bus and coach builders in the UK, has announced 235 job losses at its Northern Irish headquarters.
